illiam (Bill) Olson was born on January 27, 1931 in Hollywood California. He served in the Merchant Marines for seven years. He resided in Redondo Beach since 1940 and was a long time member of the Elks. Bill served as a Deacon for some 20 years at St. James Catholic Church. His Love was so strong for his Wife, Family and Friends, along with his God and Church. Bill is survived by his daughter Carol; step-daughters Jeanette and Laura; step-son Roy; sister Virginia; brother Bob; grandchildren Christie, Mathew, Richard, Erin and Max; great-grandchildren Alexis, Solly, Angelina, Cassi, Erin Lyn and Cory Ray and nieces and nephews Cassandra, Katy, Angelo, David, Danny, Bobby and Dominic. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Lighthouse Memorials and Receptions - White & Day Center on Friday November 10, 2017 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm. The Church Service will be held at St. James Catholic Church on Saturday November 11, 2017 at 10:00 am. Reception will be held at White & Day Center from 12:30pm until 2:30pm. In lieu of flowers the family request a donation to St. Vincent DePaul (on the note) and mail it to St. James Catholic Church 124 N. Pacific Coast Hwy Redondo Beach, CA 90277.
