April 29, 1931 ? November 10, 2017 Maureen was born in Los Angeles, California to August J. and Ruth W. "Chita" O'Connor. In 1937 the O'Connor family moved to Hermosa Beach and Maureen lived primarily in the South Bay since that time. She graduated from St. James School in Redondo Beach, Redondo Union High School, and U.S.C., with a degree in Education. Before starting her teaching career, she also studied for two years in Mexico City. She first taught at Mira Costa High School and soon transferred to Redondo Union where she taught American Literature for many years. Maureen loved cats and reading good books. She enjoyed classic movies and summer travel. She especially liked getting together with family and friends on birthdays, holidays, or other occasions, to share old times and discuss current events. Maureen is survived by her son, Stewart Linder, of Atascadero, California. She is also survived by her three brothers, Pat of Cardiff-by-the-Sea, CA, Mike of Cottesloe, Western Australia, and Tim of Redondo Beach, CA; two sisters, Sheila of East Machias, ME, and Kathleen of Laguna Nigel, CA. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, November 25, 2017, at St. James Church, 415 Vincent St., Redondo Beach, CA.
