Memories

Looking back, I somewhat took for granted the amazing high school that I was fortunate enough to attend. I wish I would have appreciated RUHS and the overall high school experience more while I was there. However, I know that the educators and resources helped me to achieve my career goals. My government teacher, Mr. Goddard, was fabulous. His lectures, views on life and personal stories were inspiring. Mrs. Rappaport taught me to appreciate literature and Mr. Paulson's detailed lectures in biology were always fascinating. Although I was privileged to have Mrs. Combs as my journalism advisor for just one year, she left a lasting impression on me and fostered my interest in the mass media. The campus' ocean view, afternoon sea breezes and persistent wisps of stratus clouds are still clear in my mind. There can't be another high school with a more stimulating physical environment. Finally, I met my future and current wife, Raquel Areechiga (also Class of 1986) while attending; she was my senior year and the greatest memory of all.
