Graduated from Scripps Institute of Oceanography, LaJolla
Obtained his teaching credential at UCLA
Raised in Hermosa, he learned to love the sea
One of the first divers to visit the Andrea Doria grave, sunk after colliding with the Stockholm in 1954 in 240 feet of water
Headed the new Marine Technology Program at Santa Barbara College
Dr. Robert Profant, Professor of Biology and a member of the Board of Trustees said, "Ramsey stood head and shoulders above everyone else." Directed the Program for nearly 12 years until his death

Memories

Ramsey loved everything about the beach and ocean. This love of water led him to his life's work. He also enjoyed playing football for RUHS.
